Dr. Tien Pham
O.D. Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Tien Pham received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Houston. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. During his training he received a wide spectrum of training in dry eyes, glaucoma, ocular disease, primary eye care and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Pham is licensed to practice Therapeutic Optometry and is certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He Joined Austin Vision Center after his internship at the San Diego Naval Medical Center.
In his free time, Dr. Pham enjoys hiking, traveling, playing basketball and practicing his cooking skills. He loves exploring Austin and is always trying to find hidden gems in the area.
Dr. Clay Barnett
O.D. Owner, Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Barnett is a native of Burnet, TX and graduated from Burnet High School. He currently resides in Austin, TX.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Barnett received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology as well as the Business Foundation degree from the Red McCombs School of Business. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry where he was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society.
Dr. Barnett is certified as an optometric glaucoma specialist and therapeutic optometrist. He was a member of the Sports and Visual Performance Clinic in Houston, Texas where he worked hands on with the University of Houston Softball team and the Houston Astros before returning to Austin.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Anna, their three kids John, William, and Evelyn. Dr. Barnett enjoys going to UT sporting events, playing golf and spending time on the lake.
Dr. Barnett is a proud member of the Four Points Chamber of Commerce, Central Texas Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.
Deanna Easterling
Office Manager/Lead Optician
Deanna has been an optician since 2015, and has been a staple at Austin Vision Center since 2018, becoming the office manager since 2021. She attended Southwestern University, and has a background in Art and Art History, which gives her a keen eye for design and aesthetics that she uses to curate the eyewear offerings at the office and style patients.
She’s all smiles, and loves getting to know each patient personally, making sure that they have a great experience.
Deanna loves sci-fi movies, plays handball, loves hiking, and plays chess!
Felicia Patel
Optometric Technician/Office Assistant
Felicia, a proud native of Pleasanton, Texas, found her second home in Austin when she enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin. Armed with a degree in Health and Society and a robust background in Pre-Health Professions, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. As our dedicated front desk receptionist, Felicia is the welcoming face of our office. Beyond her administrative duties, she skillfully conducts preliminary exams, provides contact lens training, and executes specialized imaging procedures with precision and care. With over 3 years of experience in customer service within the optometry field, Felicia thrives on building connections with patients, ensuring their vision needs are met to the highest standard. Known for her knack for puns, she infuses the office with laughter and warmth. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, adding to her Lego collection, and spending time with her family!
John Cavanaugh
Optician
John is a native of North Carolina and received his formal Opticianry training and state license there. John has lived in Austin since 1999 and has spent the majority of his optical career specializing in private-practice patient care and practice management. He is happy to be the newest member of the Austin Vision Center team, and arrived with what seems like an unlimited supply of dad jokes. John is certified by the American Board Of Opticanry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. He attends continuing education events yearly to keep up to date on the latest technologies in eyewear and contact lenses.
John finds working in the Optometric field very rewarding and appreciates the unique blend of healthcare and fashion. He has enjoyed helping multiple generations of Austinites achieve better vision by helping them select the most ideal frames and lenses for their individual needs.
When not enhancing the world through optics, he enjoys spending time with his rescue dogs and working in his yard.
