Dr. Mark F. Hutson, O.D.

Dr. Hutson opened Austin Vision Center in 1987.  He has been practicing optometry for 36 years. He has built a reputation for not only being a talented and professional optometrist, but for also being a friend to his patients, whom he considers his second family. 

In 2003, Dr. Hutson opened a second location in Northwest Austin to accommodate his expanding patient base.  Dr. Hutson is an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin and he received his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston.  His two children, along with their spouses, are alumni of The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Bryan Marshall, O.D.  

Dr. Marshall received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, before attending Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.  He is currently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. He is also an active member of the Central Texas Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Society and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Marshall joined Austin Vision Center in October 2009 and he has a passion for his patients well being. He considers himself a great listener and problem solver.  He is an avid cyclist and outdoorsman. Dr. Marshal enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Brooke, his dog Neil, and friends and family.

Anne Schoenike Hutson
Administrator

When Austin Vision Center expanded to two locations, Mrs. Hutson resigned from teaching sixth grade English and reading at Bailey Middle School in order to take on the administrative and financial responsibilities at Austin Vision Center.   

She and Dr. Hutson met at the University of Texas and have been married for 39 years. They have two children, each of whom are married.  They welcomed their first grandchild on November 4, 2006, and their second grandchild was born August 20, 2008.

Max Baltazar
Optician

Max joined us in March 2006 and is an excellent optician with many years of experience. He is now managing the Tarrytown store.   He will make sure you have a great time selecting your next pair of eye glasses!  

Annette Marie
Optician

Annette has 23 years of optical experience in high-end eyewear. She is now the manager of the Four Points store.  Annette studied optics in Weisbaden, Germany, and she recently moved here from Colorado. 

Kelly Shugart 

Kelly graduated from the University of Texas in December 2006 with a degree in English. She has been one of Dr. Hutson's patients since she was nine years old.  After graduation, she worked at the registrar's office at UT. She then decided to get into the optometric field by coming to work at Austin Vision Center. 

Marissa Seiferman

Marissa graduated from Texas State in May 2008 with a degree in marketing and a minor in Radio, Television and Film.  She came to us after working at Solstice Sunglass Boutique during college and has adapted well to working at a full-service optical.
